Everything a captain does lives under My Team, plus the score you report after a game.
Your roster
My Team is your roster. You add people by email address.
They do not need an account. UltiHQ creates a player record from the email, and that person claims it the first time they sign in with the same address. On a roster of twenty-five it is normal for most people not to have signed in yet.
- An invitation is not a roster spot until it is accepted.
- A declined or removed entry is a thing that did not happen, and does
not count toward anything.
- Nobody is emailed by you adding them. They find their invitation when they
sign in.
If your event is USA Ultimate sanctioned, players can give their membership number when they accept. It is optional, it never blocks anybody, and UltiHQ does not check it against USA Ultimate — the number is collected so an organizer can file a roster, not to verify anything.
Entering the event
Registration and payment are the organizer's flow, not yours, but two things are worth knowing:
- A waitlisted entry is not priced. If you are in a queue you owe nothing
yet, and the price is set when a place is actually claimed.
- If you were offered a place from the waitlist, it expires. The offer
says when. It goes to the next team after that, not back to the bottom of your list.
Reporting a score
Report from the game itself. Both captains can report, and the organizer can override — a score everybody agrees on is confirmed quickly, and a disagreement goes to the organizer rather than to whoever submitted last.
Scores take a few seconds to reach everybody, up to about fifteen. On a bad connection the app queues what you entered and sends it when the signal comes back. You do not need to stay on the page.
Spirit scores
Where the event has spirit scoring on, you score the other team after the game.
Two rubrics exist and the event chooses one:
- USA Ultimate — three categories, 0–4 each, out of 12. Most games are
4–8, and a 6 is a good game.
- WFDF — five categories, 0–4 each, out of 20. Most games are 8–13, and a
10 is common.
They are different instruments and UltiHQ never averages across them. A comment is required for a 0 or a 4 — the extremes are the ones that need saying out loud.
Things that catch people out
You only see people you play with. There is no directory and no way to look somebody up by name. A roster is the only place one person sees another.
Your roster is per event. A club that plays three tournaments has three rosters, and a player who joined one is not automatically on the next.
A game that has not been scheduled has no time. If the schedule says nothing, the organizer has not placed that game yet — it is not an error.
